Main centre Year 3+
For our younger students who perhaps have not started to learn an instrument yet, we offer an introduction to music through the use of instruments such as the guitar, recorder, keyboards and drums, and also encourage the children to sing in our centre choir.
For children already learning an instrument
Our other music groups include two orchestras, wind band, brass group, traditional / folk group, strings, guitars, drums, recorders, and rock bands.
We cater for all abilities - from the absolute beginner to the more advanced - and we cover an extensive range of musical genres from classical to rock and folk.
We are currently able to offer several dance classes – for beginner to advanced, and these include two mixed dance groups: boys only streetand ballet/tap. We have 3 fantastic dance teachers to take you through your steps and provide a wealth of styles.
Drama and acting skills
The drama and acting skills groups are a great place to build confidence and give our pupils an insight into the technical elements of drama through activities, games and performance opportunities.
We have two musical theatre groups including our Training Musical Theatre for our younger students and those who are less experienced and are wanting to build up their skills.
Each year our musical theatre groups stage a full production. Previous productions include: Bugsy Malone, Oliver, Annie, The Boyfriend, Fiddler on the Roof Junior, Guys and Dolls Junior, Back to the 80's, Fame Junior and Singing in the Rain Junior and Annie. We will be putting on our 2019 show at the end of June.
Our awards success
In 2013 we won the NODA Award for Best Youth Production in the Eastern Region District 7 for our production of Fiddler On The Roof Junior. We have also been nominated for our productions of Guys and Dolls, Back to the 80's and Fame.
