Rutland Music is as an independent charity and is the vehicle for the delivery of the National Plan for Music Education in the County of Rutland.​ It is a subsidiary charity of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust, but wholly dedicated to Rutland.

Pupils, staff and parents in Rutland are invited to benefit from the range of offers and activities on offer through NMPAT and all activities available to Northamptonshire students and staff are open to our friends from Rutland.

There is a programme of CPD courses for staff to support Curriculum Music teaching.

There is a password protected staff intranet, iPresto, for all employees of the Trust and Rutland Music.

Information for parents

Rutland Play Days are part of a network of Saturday Centres administered by NMPAT. Each one is different reflecting the interests and skills of the staff working there. All the Centres are open access, with no audition.

There are auditioned County Ensembles for more advanced players in Northamptonshire, membership of which is decided by competitive audition in the summer of each year. Applications for membership would be welcomed from Rutland musicians. Rehearsals take place weekly in Northampton. There is a regular programme of concerts.

For those interested in drama, there is a County Youth Theatre, meeting in Northampton on a Saturday afternoon.
