The drama team are excited to get back to a full afternoon of creating drama. The first half term will be full of games that encourage participation and team working. We will be improving our communication skills and creating characters with a range of dedicated skills workshops.
We will also be launching a script writing competition looking for new writing for our new scriptwriting festival, “From Page to Stage” that will take place in December. The winning scripts will be performed by our Youth Theatre and Young Actors Company.
We are planning to run our sessions to nurture all that creativity that has been resting for the last few months. We are also planning on having lots of fun, making friends and bringing the NMPAT building alive again!
Our Spring and Summer terms will see students rehearsing for a performance at The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough in June 2022.

To help you prepare your entry, why not come along to our summer workshop, From Page to Stage, where expert staff from the NMPAT Drama team will support you in your writing.
A summer writing workshop will take place at NMPAT, Northampton, on Wedmesday 11th and Thursday 12th August. It will run from 10am-4pm and you should bring a packed lunch. Please click here to register for the summer workshop.
The cost for the workshop is £40. We will request payment once your place has been confirmed.
Following the workshop, the deadline for submitting your play is Sunday 31st October.
Three external judges will review the submissions and five from each category will be selected for a rehearsed reading by NMPAT Youth Theatre and Young Actors Company, as part of a new playwriting festival in December.
The writer of the overall winning play will be awarded a £30 Waterstones voucher.
