Drama Classes

Drama at NMPAT encourages students to be independent and aims to build confidence, on and off the stage. We want all our students to love the joy of playing and using their imagination. Creativity is at the heart of all they do and most importantly they have fun whilst making new friends. We also offer individual lessons, where students are given the opportunity to take exams and follow the London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA), English Speaking Board (ESB) and Trinity Arts Award Syllabuses.

Lessons are available in drama as an individual or as part of a group. You can also take part in drama activities as part of the timetable for Saturday Music and Arts Centres.

Group classes

Please note, we are not currently running any small group drama classes.  If this is something you are interested in please contact the NMPAT office: 01604 637117 / office@nmpat.co.uk

The classes are designed for students from the age of 7 to 18 years of age and groups are divided into the appropriate age.

In order to allow each student to receive personal attention, enhancing development, numbers in the groups are limited to 10.

Our classes cover a wide range of activities and each lesson in structures to stimulate the imagination. During the year, some of the skills we hope to introduce are, amongst others:

  • scripted drama
  • structured improvisation
  • language development
  • creative movement
  • dialogue development
  • mime
  • speech techniques

We aim to offer diversity and a variety of skills in order to develop the students’ potential.

We encourage students to participate in local festivals and to work towards examinations for both the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the English Speaking Board.

Our aim is to give students the confidence, good communication and social skills that they may need in everyday life to improve their self esteem.

We provide a safe, exciting and happy environment which allows the students to work and fulfil their potential.

Saturday Music and Arts Centres

Drama classes are also available for students (sorry, not for adults) on Saturday mornings.
