Individual Lessons

Lessons are typically 30 minutes long in sets of 10, and are usually delivered on week day evenings at the Northampton Music & Performing Arts Centre.

Once application forms are received, our Drama Co-ordinator will contact you to discuss the range of groups, availability, times and days of specific sessions.

Adults as well as students may take individual lessons.

Mini Drama

Sessions aimed specifically for children from 3 to 6 years of age.

The main emphasis of these classes is to encourage children to enjoy using language, to build confidence and experiment with movement and rhythm and to have fun with drama!

Group Classes

The classes are designed for students from the age of 7 to 18 years of age and groups are divided into the appropriate age.

In order to allow each student to receive personal attention, enhancing development, numbers in the groups are limited to 10.

Our classes cover a wide range of activities and each lesson in structures to stimulate the imagination. During the year, some of the skills we hope to introduce are, amongst others:

  • scripted drama
  • structured improvisation
  • language development
  • creative movement
  • dialogue development
  • mime
  • speech techniques

We have several teachers working for us in the drama department, each one is able to offer diversity and a variety of their own skills in order to develop the students' potential.

We encourage students to participate in local festivals and to work towards examinations for both the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the English Speaking Board.

Our aim in all of the classes is to give students the confidence, good communication and social skills that they may need in everyday life to improve their self esteem.

We provide a safe, exciting and happy environment which allows the students to work and fulfil their potential.

Saturday Music and Performing Arts Centres

Drama classes are also available for students (sorry, not for adults) on Saturday mornings.
