About the Dectet

The County Wind Ensemble is one of the four woodwind chamber groups of the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust and rehearses on Friday evenings in Room 14 at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre from 5pm to 6pm. The director for the 2016 to 2017 season is Dawn Loane.

The Wind Ensemble is a 10 piece orchestral wind group, usually referred to as Dectet and currently known as TGI Dectet.

The instrumental line up is 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 french horns and 2 bassoons, although some of the repertoire includes use of piccolo, bass clarinet, cor anglais and contra bassoon. Their annual programme includes a series of concerts around the county and regular appearances at the regional round of the National Festival of Music for Youth. In the summer of 2013 they undertook their first concert tour to Scotland.
