About the String Sinfonia

The Sinfonia is the senior string orchestra of the Music and Performing Arts Trust and rehearses on Tuesday evenings in the Richard Coles Hall at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre from 5:30 – 7:00pm. The conductor for the 2016 – 2017 season is Carly Sephton (pictured).

The Sinfonia is a string orchestra formed of members of the County Youth Orchestra and County Training Orchestra. Their repertoire includes the very best of music written for string orchestra. They have appeared at the finals of the National Festival of Music for Youth in Symphony Hall, Birmingham. 

During the course of the year, Sinfonia appears in several County Music concerts, and usually appears at the National Festival of Music for Youth regional event in Northampton.

How to join us 

Membership is by invitation to members of the County Youth Orchestra and County Training Orchestra. Auditions are held annually in July. See the auditions page for further information.
