About the County Junior Strings

Conductor: Jane HargraveThe CJS is the youngest string orchestra of the Music and Performing Arts Trust and rehearses on Monday evenings in the Richard Coles Hall at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre from 5:15pm to 7:00pm. In November 2016 the orchestra appeared at the Music for Youth Prom in the Royal Albert Hall, many of the players having appeared there the year before, supporting Cornwall Youth Orchestra.

During the course of the year, the orchestra appears in several County Music concerts, including the annual "Highly Strung" and the New Generation Concert at the Derngate. The annual programme also includes a Residential Course at Grendon Hall.
