About the Training Choir

The County Training Choir is one of the five choirs of the Music and Performing Arts Trust and rehearses on Wednesday evenings in Rm 14 at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre from 5:30pm to 7:00pm The conductor for the remainder of the 2016 to 2017 season is Beth Hodgson.

The Training Choir is a mixed voice choir, with a particular emphasis on introducing part-singing and performance skills in preparation for possible future involvement in the Senior Girls' or County Youth Choirs.

Their annual programme includes a series of concerts around the County including the Second Generation concert in the Derngate and regular appearances at the regional round of the National Festival of Music for Youth.

In 2011 the choir recorded a song by Ben Scott called "Fostering the Future" as part of Foster Care Fortnight. The finished song is available from itunes, but you can see pictures of the recording session below.
