Zingaresque in action

Zingaresque and their junior counterpart Junior Zingaresque are the world music and composition groups of the Music and Performing Arts Trust and rehearse on Tuesday evenings at the
Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre. Junior Zingaresque meets from from 7:15pm to 8:15pm in Room 5 followed by Zingaresque which meets from 8:15pm to 9:15pm in the Edmund Rubbra Hall. The directors for the 2017 to 2018 season are Richard Leigh (pictured) assisted by Henry Bentley.
The instrumental make up of the group is highly diverse and fluid and players often use their skills on a variety of instruments and voice. An important aspect of their work is the collaborative nature of the composition and performance development, with all contributions from members being equally valid.
Zingaresque have often appeared at the finals of the
National Festival of Music for Youth in the world music class.
